Join us for an introduction to herbal medicine based on the fall and winter seasons! This class will focus on building your relationship with herbal allies and learning season-based and practical medicine making skills. An herbal ally is a plant that can support our body, heart, and spirit with its medicine. We will be learning recipes, folk medicine, ancestral medicine, altar building, and ways to incorporate our allies into our day to day lives. Topics may include: Herbs for fire season & respiratory support, Building ancestral connections, Fall magic, Rest, and Food as medicine. This class will be taught online and may enroll up to 22 participants. Medicine making will be modeled by the teacher live in class; students will be encouraged to practice at home. Student will be mailed some tinctures and dried herbs to work with to encourage participation, but all class materials will not be provided. Commonly available equipment is needed for medicine making. Students will receive accessible prompts about how to engage with plants wherever they are based.
