Enslavement, colonization, and forced removal have created a fragmentation of self for most.  This fragmentation, also known as collective trauma can lead to individual feelings of isolation, estrangement from nature/community, a sense of non-belonging, and a lack of agency in one’s life. To recover our wholeness and our power, we can deepen our relationship to plants whose spirit, wisdom, and medicine can help to unlock our true nature; to liberate the mind, heart, body and soul.

In this 6-week class we will look at:
-Plants that can be used for emotional, spiritual, and energetic release including Rue, Pericon (Mexican Tarragon), and Mugwort.-Flower essences that instill courage, amplify personal power and strengthen one’s sense of self including Borage, St. John’s Wort, and Sunflower.

-Herbs that support and cultivate resilience to withstand and heal the impact of trauma in the body, mind, heart and soul including Milky Oats, Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, and Nettle.

This course will cover how to prepare spiritual baths, apply self-limpias, and create herbal medicine formulations including infusions, milks, flower essences, and tinctures.  Class will be opened with a prayer to our ancestors and the 7 sacred directions.  Our time together will include an opportunity to drop more deeply into ourselves and the container with somatic practice.
