Winter 2019: Ventosas Traditional Mesoamerican Fire Cupping

This class will focus on the theory and practice of Fire Cupping within the context of Curanderismo. We will have a brief introduction of Curanderismo and how Ventosas play a big role within it. This is a beautiful healing tool that will bring another dimension to your healing practice. It has been practiced for hundreds if not thousands of years all over the world. We can find it in Russia, Morocco, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Mexico, most of the Americas, and other parts of the world. In this class we will focus on one of the ways Curanderas in Mexico practice this healing art. We will talk about the element of Fire and its importance in this work. We will talk about the importance of this element and its alchemical value within the healing process and the importance of honoring the five elements within Curanderismo. This class is open for everyone interested and within the healing arts.

We will talk about how this technique helps with:

• Fascia, soft tissue, and muscles

• Emotions

• Respiratory system

• Range of motion

• Opening stagnant energy

• Opening stagnant lymph/circulation
