Celebrating 2017 at Ancestral Apothecary
We are grateful to be wrapping up another amazing year at Ancestral Apothecary. This year we offered almost a dozen classes and also graduated two groups of students from both our first and second years of Cecemmana. Congratulations to all our graduates!
One of the highlights of the 2017 was our trip to the American Herbalist Guild Symposium to receive our award for Diversity and Equity in Herbal Medicine. I traveled to Silverton, Oregon with four of my Cecemmana students to accept the award. We enjoyed mingling with herbalists from around the country and were thrilled to meet Patrisia Gonzales, author of Red Medicine, Traditional Indigenous Rites of Birthing and Healing, who was the keynote speaker. We hope to bring Patrisia out to our school to teach in 2018.
