Lilia Roman

Lilia Roman is from Mexico and has traveled extensively most of her life. She has been studying dance and body movement for over 20 years. She believes that Yoga is really the unfolding of our own being; it is not just exercise, not just physical movement. She believes that through the breath, movement, and awareness, the person is unraveling what he/she already is, what has always been but it has been blocked, repressed, or denied through layers and layers of trauma and false ideas of ourselves.  Lilia is RYT 500 and also holds a certificate in iRest Yoga Nidra, Chair Yoga, and Prenatal.  She is now part of the Urban Zen Integrative Yoga Therapy Program and has studied Yoga for Scoliosis with Elise Miller. In addition, Lilia also studies Qi Gong, herbology, and Curanderismo, the Mexican healing practice. She also teaches around the bay area, leading sessions in English and Spanish.  She also teaches private and semiprivate classes.  She volunteers part of her time bringing yoga to underserved communities and organizes retreats to bring people together to heal and celebrate life and to create support groups for women who are looking for peace and balance.
