Lilia Roman is from Mexico and has traveled extensively throughout her life. Her grandmother was a Curandera, her mother healed her children with herbs and Mexican traditional medicine. Lilia, for this reason, grew up with herbs and rituals. Lilia has been studying dance, Yoga, and body movement for over 20 years. She believes that Yoga is not just physical movement or exercise but the unfolding of our own being; she believes that, through the breath, movement, and awareness, the person is unraveling what he/she already is, what has always been but has been blocked, repressed, or denied through layers and layers of trauma and false ideas of ourselves. Lilia is eRYT 500, iRest Yoga Nidra, Chair Yoga, and Urban Zen Yoga Therapy certified and has also studied Yoga for Scoliosis with Elise Miller.
In addition, Lilia also studies Qi Gong, herbology, and Curanderismo, the Mexican healing practice. She teaches around the bay area, leading public and private clases and workshops in English and Spanish. She volunteers part of her time bringing yoga to underserved communities; she also organizes retreats to bring people together to heal and celebrate life. Lilia supports women’s groups and offers tools to help people become resilient, find joy, peace, and balance in these challenging times, For more info, please visit www.liliaroman.com
