Laurencio López Núñez is a “Master Curandero” from Oaxaca, Mexico. He has taught Curanderismo during the Summer program at UNM in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the past 16 years. He is also a master Ethnobotanist who has given aid and education to the Zapotec communities in Oaxaca also by bringing them knowledge in permaculture, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture. He is known for his Oaxacan Limpias, his powerful Zapotec ceremonies and rituals. His wisdom is vast and he is generous in sharing the knowledge that was passed on to him by his ancestors. He enjoys teaching Curanderismo, healing with herbs, and permaculture. He brings in the importance to nurture and harvest plants with reverence respecting the essence of the plant’s energy.
